Namaste, iam Helen Clough, Enjoy the rest of your day.

Wow, what a relief! My pitted windshield is finally restored. I can’t believe how quickly the repairman got it done - it looks like new! I’m so glad I didn’t have to replace the whole thing; that would’ve been a real pain in the neck. Anyways, now that my windshield is back to its former glory, I can get back on the road without worrying about any more damage.

Can A Pitted Windshield Be Restored? [Solved]

Ah man, there ain’t no surefire fix for pitted or worn windshields. Your best bet, and probably the only way out, is to get a new one. If the pits are just startin’ to form or are minor, you can try to smooth ’em over.

  1. Cleaning: The windshield should be thoroughly cleaned to remove any dirt, debris, or other contaminants that may interfere with the restoration process.

  2. Repairing: Any cracks or chips in the windshield should be repaired before attempting to restore it. This will ensure a smooth and even finish when the restoration is complete.

  3. Sanding: The surface of the windshield should be sanded down to create a smooth surface for the restoration process. This will help ensure that no air bubbles are left behind during the application of the new material.

  4. Applying Resin: A resin-based material should then be applied to fill in any pits or divots in the glass and create a uniform surface for polishing and buffing later on in the process.

  5. Polishing & Buffing: After allowing sufficient time for drying, polishing and buffing can begin to bring out a shine on your newly restored windshield!

Wow, that pitted windshield looks like new again! They really did a great job restoring it. It’s amazing how they managed to get rid of all those pits and make it look so smooth. I’m impressed!
