Geez, it feels like my engine’s been running for hours! I’m sure glad I finally got it up and running again. It was a real pain in the neck trying to figure out what was wrong with it. But after a few false starts, I’m back on the road. Now that’s what I call a job well done!
How Many Hours An Engine Can Run Non Stop? [Solved]
Well, basically, cars can only run for so long before they need a refuel. Ya know, about 500 kms or 7-8 hours. So that’s the limit of how long an engine can stay on - as long as there’s fuel in the tank!
Total Hours: This is the total number of hours that the engine has been running since it was first put into service.
Idle Hours: This is the amount of time that the engine has been running while not under load, such as when it is idling or in neutral.
Loaded Hours: This is the amount of time that the engine has been running while under load, such as when it is powering a vehicle or other machinery.
Maintenance Intervals: This refers to how often maintenance should be performed on an engine based on its total hours run and type of use (idle vs loaded).
