Band Formation: Supertramp was formed in 1969 by Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson, two former members of the band “Arrow”.
Early Success: The band’s first album, “Supertramp”, was released in 1970 and was a commercial success, reaching number 34 on the UK Albums Chart.
Breakthrough Album: Their breakthrough album came in 1974 with “Crime of the Century”, which reached number 3 on the UK Albums Chart and spawned their first hit single, “Dreamer”.
International Success: Supertramp achieved international success with their 1979 album “Breakfast in America”, which reached number 1 on both the US Billboard 200 and UK Albums Chart.
Final Years: After a series of lineup changes throughout the 1980s, Supertramp disbanded in 1988 after releasing their final studio album, “Free as a Bird”.
