Unfortunately, his appeal to the Georgia High School Association was denied and he’s stuck on the sidelines for the 2022 season. Bummer! -In April 2021, the Valdosta High School football team was ruled ineligible to compete in the Georgia state playoffs due to a violation of the Georgia High School Association’s (GHSA) rules.
-The GHSA found that Valdosta had used an ineligible player during their regular season games, which resulted in them being disqualified from postseason play.
-The ineligible player was found to have transferred from another school without properly completing all of the necessary paperwork and procedures required by GHSA regulations.
-Valdosta appealed the ruling but it was ultimately denied by the GHSA Board of Trustees.
-The decision has been met with criticism from many in the community who feel that it is unfair for a team that worked hard all season long to be denied a chance at competing for a state championship.
