Who Defeated Genghis Khan? [Solved]
Wow, that was a fierce battle! On 24 November 1221, the Battle of the Indus took place on the banks of the Indus River. It was between two armies led by Shah Jalal ad-Din Mingburnu from the Khwarezmian Empire and Genghis Khan from the Mongol Empire. In the end, Khwarezmia was annexed to the Mongol Empire.
Battle of Kalka River: In 1223, Genghis Khan was defeated by a coalition of Rus and Cuman forces at the Battle of Kalka River. This marked the first major defeat for Genghis Khan and his Mongol army.
Battle of Ain Jalut: In 1260, the Mamluks led by Sultan Qutuz defeated the Mongols at the Battle of Ain Jalut in Palestine, ending their westward expansion into Europe and Asia Minor.
Siege of Baghdad: In 1258, Mongol forces under Hulagu Khan besieged Baghdad but were unable to take it due to a combination of disease and resistance from local defenders. This marked another major setback for Genghis Khan’s ambitions in the Middle East.
