Gone are the days of metal armor! It’s no longer used in battle, but it sure was a sight to behold. I mean, talk about intimidating! Whoa! But times have changed and so has the way we protect ourselves. Nowadays, we rely on more modern materials that are lighter and more effective. Still, it’s hard not to look back fondly on those days when knights in shining armor were a common sight. Ahh, nostalgia!
Why Is Metal Armor No Longer Used? [Solved]
By the Renaissance, gunpowder weapons had made it so that heavy and expensive armour was no longer necessary. So, armies decided to ditch the body armour and let their soldiers march further and faster. Ya know, to give ’em an edge!

ceramic plates
- Ceramic plates can be added to bulletproof vests or worn separately for additional protection against high-velocity rounds such as those fired from rifles or machine guns. They are heavier than Kevlar but offer superior protection against these types of rounds.
Metal armor’s no longer in use - it’s a thing of the past. Nowadays, we rely on more modern forms of protection. I mean, who wears metal armor anymore? It’s just not practical. Still, it was pretty cool back in the day!
